Parish Council, Stand strong tonight on the Home RUle Charter. The people will back you up. Sam D. is a good man but not qualified to be the DPW director per the Home Rule Charter. Also, hold Mr. Ricks and AFA accountable for their actions in the check business. You have right on your side!

I see that Easterly said looks like the parish is going to be responsible for all the debris charges now, that fema is not going to pay because they feel all the rules were not followed. Maybe the people of the parish should have a big thank you party and have McCoy and the fab 5, AFA, IED and others involved as special guest!!!!

I have never had much interest in politics before now, however living in Livingston Parish I find myself personally searching out the people and politics in this area. I love mystery novels but if you wrote all this mess into a novel, fiction or fact, no one would believe it. sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction. I would like to get involved but I really don't know how to. We the people need to get involved but like me, they don't know what to do. Any advice on how to contact someone to get involved would be greatly appreciated.

I was reading the article written By Mr. Earl. In the article it stated: "..new contract be contracted out at a competitive price and for a shorter duration.." refering to the AFA road contract. While I am in agreement regarding the contract I am not in agreement about the competitive price. This type of work is deemed professional services and per state law must be awarded on qualifications and not price. As far as a selection committee, I am all for the committee as long as it is setup correctly. By correctly, my idea, the DPW director chairs with not vote and handles final scoring, two or three members of the council and two/three members from administration (department heads), then a shortlist of three, Parish president recommends 1 to be awarded, then council makes final decision based on scoring sheets and recommendation. All in open forum with disclosure sheets of personal contacts.
